The Vacancy
Purpose of the Job and Key activities
To assist in generating security designs, output films and produce plates for various printing processes.
To achieve highest customer satisfaction index.
Carry out FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) for all processes and products in the pre-press section and implement the control plans.
Apply independence in generating security features on documents, using the security design software and related application packages, and colour match inks within the capabilities of the available presses.
Ensure that all designs and printing plates conform to related standards and satisfy quality requirements.
Assist in communicating production information to production planner on workings and inks for facilitation of print instructions.
Preparation of layouts for artworks and production of film separations using the computer to film repro system.
Monitor and adhere to the job plan through the PDCA board.
Control plate-making stocks around the established target
Induct staff on safe working practices and ensure they remain sufficiently safety conscious.
Ensure that chemicals and equipments in design and repro are operating at optimum levels with regard to chemical concentration, calibration and maintenance.
Ensure that multi negatives are correctly adjusted and conform to machine type requirements.
Ensure that layouts conform to factory order instructions and machine specifications.
Ensure that single units are checked against approved proofs.
Ensure operations are performed according to established technical standards and procedures.
Ensure that safety regulations regarding chemicals are adhered to.
Practice and promote work Place organization culture.
Comply with recognised security procedures.
Report material usage at the end of each period
Maintain accurate account of design and repro materials stock level.
Record work performed on the docket at the end of the shift.

Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Studio administrator or Print Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
KCSE C and Diploma in Printing Technology
Minimum of 3 years work experience.
Computer training in use of design application software and experience in the use of repro equipments.
