The Vacancy
We are looking for Intern - Engineering (Data Analytic Work) to support implementation of Agility, a Group maintenance and inventory system in Sri Lanka
This internship offers hands-on experience in engineering stock maintenance, supporting the implementation of new engineering management systems, and reordering risk spares. Additionally, the intern will be given the opportunity to learn about the repair and maintenance of high precision printing machinery, as well as participate in preventive and autonomous maintenance activities with the guidance of TPM practitioners.
Key responsibilities -
1. Engineering Stock Maintenance:
• Organize and maintain engineering stocks to ensure availability for maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement to replenish supplies as needed.
2. Implementation of New Engineering Management System:
• Assist in the implementation of new engineering management systems, including software and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth transition and adoption of new systems.
3. Reordering of Risk Spares:
• Identify critical spare parts required for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Coordinate with suppliers to reorder risk spares in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
4. Support for Senior Management:
• Provide administrative and technical support to senior management, including data analysis and reporting.
• Assist in preparing presentations and reports for management meetings.
5. Learning and Development:
• Gain hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of high precision printing machinery.
• Participate in preventive maintenance activities and learn about autonomous maintenance under the guidance of TPM practitioners
Qualifications, Skills & Experience -
• Currently enrolled in an engineering program or related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Familiarity with engineering principles and basic maintenance concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Engineering software tools.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to take initiative and propose innovative solutions to improve processes.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and assignments.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concepts is a plus.
• Availability to work full-time during the internship period.
• Commitment to upholding safety standards and protocols in the workplace.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking abilities.
*Previous internship or work experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
This internship is for a period of 12 months, on a Fixed Term Contract basis.
